is it true that in oriental culture , cat and dog are actually eaten?
i have heard more than once that in the united states in the chinese restaurants, cat and dog are used in the preparation of many of the dishes. Someone also told me that when they were a child, they passed by a chinese butcher shop, and hanging in the window, were what looked like dog and cat .
Yes, some eastern cultures do have dishes that consist of dogs and cats, but it’s not like they’d come over and try to steal Fido from unsuspecting pet owners or grab the feral cat that’s lying on the street. The way dogs and cats are viewed in some cultures is the same way say, chickens are viewed. They’re food. My dad is from the Philippines and he told me he once ate dog when he was little, but dog/cat dishes are eaten mostly by the natives living in the mountains.
